We share the
interest for breeding, and are always looking for new interesting dogs to add to
our bloodlines. So many things are to take in to consideration, working skills,
health and temperament. We would like to quote John and Sandra Halstead stating “Temperament is the keystone of the Labrador. In our opinion the Labrador should have a kindly nature, always willing to please, shows no sign of aggression, should have an inbuilt love of retrieving and a natural ability to hunt. If it has all these qualities, then it is a Labrador.” We x-ray hips and elbows, and we encourage those who buy a pup from our kennels to do the same. It is important to know the status of as many in the litter as possible, since it tells you more about the bloodline in general, and more of just that combination specifically. We regularly check eyes and do the Optigen test. We travel to England as often as we can, looking at trials and dogs. Pedigrees is of great importance of course, but we don’t believe in just “breeding on paper” – you need to see the dog for yourself and decide whether this is the type of working dog you like and that will be suitable for the bitch! Our puppies are dewormed, registered in the Swedish kennel club, health checked, Micro chipped and vaccinated before you pick it up. We hope you will find a puppy from Meadowlark kennels become a great shooting companion, field trial dog and good friend for many years to come! Welcome to make enquiries! We are happy to sell pups abroad, and will help you making all necessary arrangements for the travel. |
